Embark on an unforgettable experience as we convene in the city of Samarkand. Meet like-hearted people as we take inspiration from the home of Sahih Bukhari to explore the theme of Innovation.

The base location for the GMWx event is Samarkand, a legendary Silk Road city renowned for its breathtaking architecture and rich history. Each morning will have a session delivered by our residence speakers and in the afternoon, we’ll discover the sights and sounds of the city from Registan Square to a local Plov making experience.

Throughout this immersive experience, against the backdrop of Uzbekistan's cultural treasures, discover meaningful connections that will enrich your professional, spiritual and personal life. This trip is perfect for anyone looking to expand their network, learn from like-hearted people and share their own experiences.

Agenda

  • Saturday 8th June

    Upon arrival in Samarkand, meet our transport team and transfer to our hotel. If you can only fly into Tashkent, then let us know to arrange a transfer to Samarkand (at an additional cost)

    Join the welcome dinner to get to know each other over great Uzbek food.

  • Sunday 9th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, join our first seminar of the week with our guest speaker Sevara Dultaeva, founder of Bukhara Creative Group, as we explore “How our history shapes our innovative character for future generations” This will be followed by a workshop session where each participant shares more about their experiences with the group.

    In the afternoon, we’ll explore the city of Samarkand visting Registan, Gur Emir, Bibikhanum, and the Ulugbek Observatory. Dinner with reflections on the day and overnight in Samarkand.

  • Monday 10th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, we’ll have time to co-work (catch up on the weekly emails!) before joining our next seminar of the week with our guest speaker as we explore “The impact the AI on the Islamic worldview in the 21st century” with our guest speaker, Anas Abou Allaban, Boston based ounder of Tarteel.ai

    After a co-working lunch to catch up on any work, we’ll visit the Konighil Village before trying your hand at making the local dish Plov at a local house. Dinner and overnight

  • Tuesday 11th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, we’ll convene for a team workshop on delivering innovation in our spaces as we go in conversation with Aisha Khan, Director of Compliance at LaunchGood

    The afternoon we will welcome the exceptionally talented Abdul Kareem for an interactive Arabic Calligraphy workshop, where you get to create your very own piece of artwork

    The rest of the day is at your leisure to co-work, do a spot of shopping or explore the city. Dinner and overnight.

  • Wednesday 12th June

    After Fajr and breakfast, we wil have departures to the airport ready or you can choose to include a two day add-on trip to Bukhara.
